Peter joined the Carey Group in 1993 after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from James Cook University. Peter left the firm in 2001 to further develop his experience and skill sets in accountancy and taxation across a broad base of industries, before returning in 2015. He has built a strong client base in Real Estate, Housing and Construction, and Business sectors. Peter was admitted as Partner in 2016.

Grant Matthews embarked on his professional journey with Carey Group in 2018, assuming the positions of Associate Adviser and later Financial Adviser. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, specialising in Accounting and Financial Management, as well as a Diploma in Financial Planning. With a commitment to continuous learning, Grant has since completed a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning. Furthermore, he recently concluded his final subject for a Masters degree, with plans to incorporate it into his profile come July, pending successful completion. Holding licenses as a Registered Financial Planner and ASIC Authorized Representative, Grant takes pride in his membership as an AFP (Financial Advice Association of Australia) member.

Chace joined Carey Group in 2017 as a Client Service Officer and quickly advanced to the roles of Para planner, Associate Adviser, and ultimately Financial Adviser in January 2022. With a solid educational foundation, Chace completed her Diploma of Financial Planning in 2015, followed by an Advanced Diploma in 2017, and most recently attained their Graduate Diploma in 2022. Additionally, Chace enhanced her expertise by successfully completing a Collaborative Law Course earlier this year. Combining her diverse skill set with a commitment to continuous learning, Chace has become a very valuable adviser, well-equipped to provide exceptional financial guidance to our clients at Carey Group.

I started with Carey Group nearly 3 years ago straight out of James Cook University. One of the aspects that attracted me to Carey Group was the multiple office locations and the option to relocate with the firm. I relocated from Townsville to the Tablelands. When I first started my journey at Carey Group, I was put in charge to oversee audits for our long-term clients, this is where our auditing business service started to grow. Starting at around 5-10 audits, I now manage the audit department which consists of around over 70 or more audits year to year. I manage the division and have been given the reins to grow Carey Group’s auditing service for the group with the confidence from our directors for me to solely oversee this division. I have worked at the Carey Group for over 20 years now, the best part about working here is not only the confidence placed on me to run my own ship (so to speak), but the flexibility in my work hours while raising my two young children, who are now teenagers and don’t need me as much these days . I can still attend all their school events and achievements. Another good thing about this work environment are the staff and friendships that we all have in and out of the office.
